New Afinia L502 Colour Label Printer Launched today!!
HD Labels are pleased to announce that we are now able to take orders for the new Afinia L502 label printer! The Afinia L502 is the follow on from the already great L501, surprise, surprise!!
The L502 is the same as the L501 in terms of spec, print speed, print quality and cost to run. These were all pretty good already. What the L502 offers is a more rugged and durable build quality. The L501 was pretty good but Afinia found people were using their label printers in busy production areas or harsh working conditions and that a more rugged outer shell was needed.
The L502 now has an all new full metal jacket making it tough enough for even the heavy handed users. The cost of the L502 is the same as the pervious L501 and the consumables are too. So basically you’re just getting a little more for the same price.
What does the L502 Offer?
Like the L501, the Afinia L502 uses HP’s Duo Ink technology which allows you to switch between dye based and pigment based inks. Dye inks offer more vibrancy in printer whereas the pigment inks offer great durability whilst still producing an amazing full colour label.
It has an inbuilt unwinder and you can add a rewinder if required. It’s common to add a rewinder should you be printing any quantities of labels.
It prints up to 8.5″ or 216mm in width with full “edge to edge” label coverage. It’s 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution means that although its designed to offer great durability of print, the labels produced still look amazing. To be honest we run ours on the pigment inks only as we feel the print quality from them is still exceptional. Request samples and see for yourself!
Who is the Afinia L502 aimed at?
If you produce labels for chemicals or need GHS & BS5609 certification then the L502 is for you. Basically if you need durable, informative colour labels that look great then this might be for you. If you’re doing thousands of labels per day then there may be other options on the market as the print speed when printing high quality large labels isn’t the quickest. But for medium use label printing there aren’t many printers that compete with the Afinia L502.
